My name is Yichen Zhang. This is my first blog entry. A little something about myself. I was born and raised in Shanghai, China. At the age of 18, I got admitted to UT Austin and selected this school for further education. I started off as an undeclared major and switched to computer science at the beginning of my second year. I am now a junior, still passionate about CS. This semester I choose CS373 Software Engineering because one of my best friends who took this course probably 3 years ago recommended this course. I was told this course has a lot of work and the projects are around building a website. I have zero experience in Web programming and would love to commit to it. Cold calling sounds fine to me. In my opinion, it’s a good way to help people concentrate during lectures. This week has a lot going on, compared with most of my winter break. Being on 3 waitlists was not fun. I have been measuring the costs and benefits of my courses, and finally, decide which classes to take today.
